Chinese actress Bai Ling was caught red-handed and arrested. The actress was arrested for shoplifting from a gift shop at Terminal 1 at LAX, according to police reports. An employee at the shop detained Bai Ling and afterwards she was taken into custody by the Los Angeles police. Ling allegedly took two magazines and two packs of AAA batteries on Wednesday afternoon. The goods were worth around $16, as Sgt. Jim Holcomb of the Los Angeles Airport Police reported. LAX police escorted the 37-year old actress to the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Station. There she was booked for misdemeanor shoplifting and released soon. Bai Ling is scheduled to appear in court on March 5. “Ms. Ling was cooperative throughout the process,” Holcomb said. The Chinese native’s cinematographic career debuted with roles in Chinese movies before moving to the United States in 1991. Ling’s key role was in “The Crow,” after which she played in movies such as “Wild Wild West,” “Anna And The King,” or “Red Corner” in 1997, a role opposite Richard Gere. Her latest appearances were in TV hit series “Lost” and in 2007’s “Shanghai Baby.” Bai Ling’s part of a pragmatic Chinese People’s lawyer in “Red corner” has become a major hindrance for the actress to enter her native country ever since the movie was launched.
